During November 2025, Ahmed Fahmy focused on enhancing observability for the GoogleCloudPlatform/vertex-ai-creative-studio repository. He restored end-to-end tracing by re-enabling the OpenTelemetry tracer initialization, which had previously been unreachable at startup. Working in Go, Ahmed eliminated dead code paths to ensure tracing was reliably activated as the service launched, enabling more effective monitoring and debugging. He validated the initialization with targeted checks, confirming that traces were emitted for requests throughout the creative-studio workflow. While the work addressed a single bug rather than introducing new features, it demonstrated depth in backend development and a strong understanding of observability best practices.
