Worked on enhancing the STMESP logging frontend in the kholia/zephyr repository, focusing on improving decoder compatibility and configurability for embedded systems. Developed a feature in C that allows an optional zero-byte end-of-message marker to be appended to log messages, along with timestamping, addressing specific decoder requirements. Integrated this functionality through updates to both Kconfig and log_frontend_stmesp.c, enabling users to configure the behavior as needed. The work demonstrated a targeted approach to device driver and logging challenges, delivering a single, well-scoped feature that improved system flexibility without introducing bugs, and reflecting a methodical engineering process within embedded development.
