Worked on the facebook/react-native repository to address a critical gap in TypeScript type definitions for Pointer Events. Focused on aligning the TypeScript PointerEvents interface with the W3C Pointer Events API and existing Flow and strict API typings, the developer resolved missing event handler definitions that previously caused type errors in React Native projects. Using TypeScript and React Native, they implemented and validated the updated type definitions through dedicated type tests, ensuring compatibility and reliability. This work improved type safety and developer experience for TypeScript users, enabling safer event handling and reducing friction for cross-platform adoption of pointer events in React Native.
