Worked on enhancing observability for the GoogleCloudPlatform/vertex-ai-creative-studio repository by restoring end-to-end tracing capabilities. Addressed a previously unreachable code path to ensure OpenTelemetry tracer initialization occurs reliably at startup, enabling comprehensive trace data collection for monitoring and debugging. Utilized Go and OpenTelemetry to validate that traces are emitted for requests throughout the creative-studio workflow, supporting faster incident response and improved performance analysis. Focused on backend development, the work emphasized proactive monitoring by ensuring trace availability from application startup, ultimately improving the reliability of observability tools and supporting ongoing maintenance and debugging efforts within the creative studio environment.
