During January 2025, Aht Ongres focused on codebase maintenance for yugabyte/yugabyte-db, addressing a targeted bug to improve clarity and consistency. Aht identified and corrected inconsistent usage of PostgreSQL terminology, updating comments and variable names from 'Postgre' to 'PostgreSQL' throughout the code. This work extended to refining a shell script to ensure version naming aligned with official PostgreSQL conventions, reducing confusion for downstream tooling and collaborators. Leveraging skills in C, shell scripting, and code refactoring, Aht’s contribution enhanced maintainability and cross-team communication. The scope was limited to a single bug fix, reflecting a focused but shallow engagement during the period.
