During December 2024, Aime Thed enhanced access governance for the VenkatasivareddyTR/aws-athena-query-federation repository by refining AWS Athena Federation permissions. Focusing on cloud security and IAM, Aime removed the dynamodb:ListSchemas permission from the athena-dynamodb.yaml configuration, thereby enforcing least-privilege principles for federated queries. This YAML-based change reduced the surface area for potential data exposure without introducing functional regressions, aligning the integration with security and compliance requirements.
