Worked on the chanzuckerberg/cztack repository to enhance backup configurability by implementing a customizable backup retention period. Leveraging Terraform and AWS, introduced a new configuration variable that allows teams to override the default 28-day retention, supporting both compliance and cost optimization requirements. The solution enables backup deletions without impacting uptime, facilitating smoother maintenance and operational flexibility. All changes were tracked with descriptive commits aligned to relevant issues, ensuring traceability. The work focused on infrastructure as code and database management, providing users with greater control over backup policies while maintaining system reliability and supporting evolving organizational needs for data retention.
