In January 2025, Alex Julian enhanced the HL7/fhir repository by refining FHIR Messaging documentation, focusing on clarifying resource inclusion rules and the role of the MessageHeader. Using HTML and leveraging expertise in FHIR standards and technical documentation, Alex updated guidance to specify that OperationDefinition and EventDefinition can define transmitted resources, and clarified that MessageHeader is not used for interpreting resources after removal from a Bundle. By removing redundant text and improving Bundle inclusion explanations, Alex increased documentation accuracy and usability. The work addressed multiple FHIR JIRA issues, supporting better maintainability and onboarding for developers working with FHIR interoperability requirements.
