Worked on modernizing the installation process for the upciti/wakemeops repository by migrating the install_repository script to the Debian deb822 format. This update enhanced package management compatibility and installation reproducibility, aligning the project with current Debian standards. The approach involved shell scripting and system administration skills to update repository definitions, securely store PGP keys under /etc/apt/keyrings/, and replace legacy sources with deb822 .sources stanzas. Legacy keyring and sources files were automatically removed to streamline upgrades and reduce support overhead. The result is a more maintainable and reliable installation flow, supporting smoother deployments and future extensibility for the project.
