Akaal Roop Singh extended the Project model in the hackclub/summer-of-making repository by adding a Hackcraft category to the YSWS dropdown, enabling more granular categorization and analytics for Hackcraft-related projects. This backend development work was implemented in Ruby, with the change carefully scoped to a single model to minimize deployment risk and simplify potential rollbacks. The update improved data quality and reporting by allowing projects to be filtered and tracked by the new category.
