Worked on security hardening within the lf-edge/eve repository by implementing a targeted restriction of ICMP traffic for the dpcreconciler component. The approach limited ICMP to echo-request messages, effectively reducing the attack surface and minimizing potential network exposure to ICMP-based threats. This change was delivered as an auditable, well-documented commit, ensuring traceability and clarity for future reviews. The work leveraged skills in firewall configuration, Linux system administration, and network security, with Go as the primary programming language. No major bugs were addressed during this period, as the focus remained on proactive feature development to enhance the repository’s security posture.
