In December 2024, Akmala delivered a dark theme with a color scheme toggle for the spacelift-io/user-documentation repository, focusing on enhancing documentation usability and accessibility. By updating CSS and configuring MkDocs, Akmala enabled seamless switching between light and dark modes, allowing users to adapt the interface to different lighting conditions. This work improved readability and reduced cognitive load for readers, aligning the documentation with modern user experience standards. The implementation maintained a clear and low-risk change scope, centralizing theming for easier future maintenance. Akmala’s contributions demonstrated proficiency in front end development, documentation practices, and the use of CSS and YAML.
