Worked on the instructure/canvas-lms repository to deliver accessibility enhancements for the Block Content Editor, focusing on improving usability for assistive technology users. Leveraged React, JavaScript, and TypeScript to refine the accessibility checker by adding a close button, adjusting navigation control alignment, and enhancing screen reader feedback with dynamic ARIA labeling that reports the number of accessibility issues found. Applied accessibility best practices and UI development skills to ensure compliance with WCAG principles, resulting in a more inclusive user experience. The work addressed integration and usability challenges, reducing accessibility risks and strengthening the overall quality of the Canvas LMS interface.
