During April 2025, Alarcon Panopoulou enhanced the Monarca_Backend repository by overhauling its backend architecture and improving data provisioning for development and testing. She refactored the database schema and modularized the backend to support new travel-related features, including flights, hotel reservations, and vouchers, while also expanding user logs and role-based access controls. Using TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL, she implemented database seeding with realistic dummy data and integrated it into the Docker-based environment. Her work updated authentication and request handling, introduced new DTOs and interfaces, and added CRUD operations, laying a robust foundation for scalable travel service enhancements.

April 2025: Backend enhancements and data provisioning for Monarca_Backend. Key work included (1) Database seeding and environment setup to enable realistic testing: added dummy data for departments, roles, users, travel agencies, and requests, with Dockerfile updates to include the dummy data file for testing/development; (2) Monarca Backend Overhaul: a major schema refactor and modular expansion introducing flights, hotel reservations, vouchers, user logs, roles and permissions, plus updated authentication and request handling, and changes to DTOs/interfaces. This month set the foundation for RBAC, enhanced travel services, and improved development/testing efficiency.
