During January 2026, contributed a targeted VAT compliance update to the woocommerce/woocommerce repository, focusing on expanding tax coverage for WooCommerce merchants. Developed and delivered a PHP-based module that added Iceland and Faroe Islands to the list of VAT-enabled countries, enabling compliant tax collection and unlocking new regional sales opportunities. The work required careful attention to internationalization and cross-border tax rules, ensuring alignment with evolving compliance requirements. Demonstrated proficiency in PHP, WooCommerce, and plugin development while collaborating effectively within the repository. The feature was validated end-to-end, supporting merchants’ access to new markets without introducing major bugs or regressions.
