Alen Sugimoto developed and integrated the pgformatter package into the mason-org/mason-registry repository, enabling standardized PostgreSQL SQL formatting across the codebase. He approached this by introducing a pre-compiled pgformatter binary, accompanied by an empty build script to minimize ongoing maintenance and streamline future automation. Working primarily with Postgres and SQL, Alen focused on database tooling and package management to ensure the formatter could be easily adopted by other contributors. While the scope of work was limited to a single feature over one month, the implementation laid a solid foundation for consistent SQL code style and improved repository maintainability going forward.
