Developed and delivered a new DynamoDB DescribeContributorInsights API status endpoint for the localstack/localstack repository, expanding the API surface to support programmatic status checks on tables and indexes. The implementation, written in Python and leveraging AWS and DynamoDB backend development skills, currently returns a DISABLED status as full Contributor Insights support is pending. Comprehensive unit tests were added to ensure correctness and maintainability, laying the groundwork for future enhancements. This work improved observability for developers and CI workflows, enabling better monitoring and integration. No major bugs were addressed during this period, with efforts focused on feature delivery and robust test coverage.
