During April 2025, Alex Trimpe enhanced the hoppscotch/hoppscotch repository by implementing UI truncation for secret environment variable values in the Secrets UI. Using Vue and CSS, Alex applied the project’s existing truncate utility to ensure long secret values no longer overflowed or disrupted the panel layout. This focused frontend development effort maintained consistency with the established design system and improved readability for developers managing secrets. The change was delivered as a single, low-risk commit, demonstrating careful scoping and attention to maintainability. Alex’s work addressed a specific UI/UX challenge, resulting in a cleaner and more user-friendly interface for secret management.
