
Worked on the apache/cloudstack repository to enhance VMware IP address discovery by implementing a NIC MAC-based matching system using Java. This approach iterated through multiple network interface cards and their associated IPs to accurately retrieve IP addresses for VMware virtual machines, addressing challenges in complex virtualized environments. The solution also included robust handling for virtual machines without assigned IPs, reducing false negatives and minimizing unnecessary log entries. Leveraging backend development, cloud infrastructure, and network configuration skills, this work improved asset inventory accuracy, streamlined troubleshooting for networking and provisioning, and strengthened monitoring and policy enforcement within the cloudstack platform’s virtualization workflows.
