Alexandru Bagu enhanced VMware IP address discovery in the apache/cloudstack repository by implementing a NIC MAC-based matching algorithm to accurately retrieve IP addresses for VMware virtual machines. His approach iterated through multiple NICs and their associated IPs, ensuring correct mapping even in complex virtualized network environments. Using Java and leveraging skills in backend development and network configuration, Alexandru also introduced robust handling for VMs without assigned IPs, reducing false negatives and improving log clarity. This work improved asset inventory accuracy, streamlined troubleshooting, and strengthened monitoring and policy enforcement, reflecting a focused and technically sound contribution to cloud infrastructure reliability.
