During March 2025, Alex Gour focused on refining the user interface of the guest banner component in the ubc-biztech/bt-web-v2 repository. Alex implemented a visual padding enhancement, adjusting vertical spacing to improve the banner’s visual presentation and ensure consistency across different breakpoints. This work involved targeted CSS and component styling within a React front-end, aligning the banner with established design system guidelines. By addressing layout alignment issues, Alex contributed to a more cohesive and polished user experience. The changes, delivered through version-controlled commits, demonstrated attention to UI detail and a methodical approach to front-end development using JavaScript and TypeScript.
