Contributed to the PaloAltoNetworks/pan.dev repository by delivering three feature-driven enhancements focused on PanOS Upgrade Assurance documentation and configuration. Over three months, developed and refined documentation for new API endpoints, explicit upgrade readiness checks, and network state snapshot methodologies, enabling operators to validate upgrade safety and streamline onboarding. Leveraged Python, Markdown, and YAML to automate documentation updates, clarify configuration management, and support post-upgrade verification workflows. Collaborated cross-functionally to ensure technical accuracy and maintainability, emphasizing clear technical writing and adherence to release-note guidelines. The work improved upgrade risk mitigation, operational visibility, and reduced friction for both customers and engineering teams.
January 2026 – PaloAltoNetworks/pan.dev: Focused delivery on upgrade readiness documentation to improve upgrade risk mitigation and post-upgrade verification. Delivered a documentation improvement feature that clarifies capturing network state snapshots and comparing them after PanOS upgrades.

In August 2025, the pan.dev project focused on strengthening PanOS Upgrade Assurance readiness through explicit readiness checks and corresponding documentation/configuration updates. This work improves upgrade reliability and safety by making readiness criteria explicit and configurable. The primary activity was documentation-driven feature enhancement for PanOS Upgrade Assurance (1.5.0), with commits tied to the release notes (#984). No major bugs were recorded this month; instead, effort was invested in establishing robust upgrade-readiness practices and improving maintainability.
