In August 2025, the pan.dev project focused on strengthening PanOS Upgrade Assurance readiness through explicit readiness checks and corresponding documentation/configuration updates. This work improves upgrade reliability and safety by making readiness criteria explicit and configurable. The primary activity was documentation-driven feature enhancement for PanOS Upgrade Assurance (1.5.0), with commits tied to the release notes (#984). No major bugs were recorded this month; instead, effort was invested in establishing robust upgrade-readiness practices and improving maintainability.

July 2025 focused on strengthening upgrade readiness through documentation enhancements in the PanOS Upgrade Assurance docs for PaloAltoNetworks/pan.dev. Delivered a feature to document new API endpoints and configuration checks (global jumbo frame configuration, system environmentals, data plane CPU utilization, and management plane CPU utilization) and improved state snapshots and reports, including MTU snapshot options and related reports. This work enables operators and customers to validate upgrade readiness more effectively, reduces onboarding friction, and sets the foundation for better operational visibility.
