Worked on backend development for the TobikoData/sqlmesh repository, focusing on improving the reliability of model path resolution across different environments. Addressed a persistent bug by standardizing the handling of model paths, converting relative paths to absolute before computing relative paths, which reduced failures in the models endpoint during CI/CD and runtime. Utilized Python to implement these changes, emphasizing robust path management and enhancing code maintainability. The solution improved cross-environment consistency and reduced debugging time, with clear documentation provided through Git commit messages. This work demonstrated attention to detail in backend engineering and a methodical approach to resolving environment-specific issues.
