During December 2024, contributed to the akka/akka-sdk repository by delivering two targeted features focused on enhancing interoperability and maintainability within the Kalix ecosystem. Developed Kalix Consumer SPI support and integrated it with the SDK runner, aligning Event Sourced Entity changes and refactoring metadata handling to support new consumer functionalities. Upgraded the Kalix runtime dependency to a newer minor release, ensuring access to recent bug fixes and features while reducing technical debt. The work demonstrated proficiency in Java, Scala, and dependency management, and emphasized cohesive integration of Akka and Kalix components to streamline service development and improve long-term project stability.
