Developed and delivered a feature set for the chatwoot/chatwoot repository focused on enhancing CSV import and export workflows with contact label support. The work introduced a labels column to CSV imports, allowing additive label assignment while preserving existing labels and validating against account-defined options to maintain data integrity. The export process was updated to include labels, ensuring consistency across data flows. All enhancements were designed to be non-disruptive, avoiding unnecessary update events during import. The implementation leveraged Ruby on Rails and JavaScript, with a strong emphasis on robust CSV handling and comprehensive end-to-end testing to verify correct label management.
