Worked on the pervices/uhd repository to deliver two targeted features over two months, focusing on embedded systems and build system modernization. Developed EEPROM data support for USRP and Crimson devices, enabling detailed device introspection and diagnostics by exposing per-channel and time data through the uhd_usrp_info utility. This involved C++ development and enhancements to the hardware abstraction layer, improving device telemetry and serviceability. Additionally, upgraded the build system by raising the minimum CMake version from 3.3 to 3.8, which improved compatibility with modern toolchains and streamlined contributor onboarding. All work emphasized maintainability and forward compatibility within the codebase.
April 2025 monthly summary for pervices/uhd: Build-system modernization focusing on CMake version compatibility; upgraded minimum CMake version from 3.3 to 3.8 to align with modern toolchains and features. This reduces build fragility, simplifies onboarding, and prepares the project for future enhancements.
