In April 2025, Amaindex enhanced the SagerNet/gvisor repository by implementing promiscuous-mode ICMPv4 Echo handling with temporary address support. This work involved extending the NetworkPacketInfo structure to include LocalAddressTemporary, enabling the system to process ICMPv4 Echo requests with awareness of temporary addresses. By adjusting the defaultHandler, Amaindex allowed custom promiscuous-mode processors to independently handle ICMP traffic, bypassing default echo replies and supporting advanced traffic analysis scenarios. The feature was developed in Go, leveraging expertise in network programming, protocol implementation, and system programming. The contribution demonstrated depth in protocol handling and addressed specialized requirements for flexible network monitoring.
