November 2025: Delivered multi-context HSAKMT support in ROCm/rocm-systems. Refactored the HSAKMT library to support multiple KFD contexts within a single process by making core components context-aware and using per-context file descriptors, while preserving backward compatibility. This work establishes independent KFD contexts per process, improving isolation, scalability, and readiness for multi-workload scenarios; it also lays the groundwork for future performance optimizations and more robust multi-context management.
