Contributed a feature enhancement to the nf-core/modules repository by updating the BLAST command’s database lookup logic to support multiple file extensions, thereby enabling compatibility with a wider range of BLAST database formats. This work, implemented in Groovy and leveraging skills in bioinformatics and command line tools, streamlined the process of database recognition and reduced manual setup for users. The approach improved pipeline reliability and interoperability by minimizing potential errors during execution. Collaboration with other contributors ensured adherence to nf-core standards and code quality, resulting in a more flexible and user-friendly data processing workflow for heterogeneous BLAST database environments.
