Worked on the carbon-design-system/ibm-products repository, focusing on encapsulating and refactoring the DataSpreadsheet component to improve both performance and integration safety. The approach involved replacing document-based querySelector logic with a reference-based selector, ensuring the component interacts only with its own rendered elements rather than the global document context. This change enhanced isolation, reliability, and reusability within the IBM Design System. The work also included review-driven code cleanup to improve maintainability and readability. Leveraged React for front end development, utilizing both JavaScript and TypeScript to deliver a more robust and maintainable component architecture over the course of the month.
