Developed a Windows desktop port of the Omi app for the basedhardware/omi repository, focusing on achieving feature parity with the existing macOS version. The project was architected using Electron, React, and TypeScript, enabling always-on recording, conversation and task management, screen-OCR context, and a floating Ask overlay. A dedicated Windows project structure was established under a separate directory, complete with its own build, testing, and release tooling to support independent release cycles and continuous integration. The work emphasized cross-platform consistency, preserving user workflows such as onboarding and automation, and included robust documentation and pipelines to streamline ongoing Windows development.
June 2026: Windows desktop port of the Omi app (Electron + React + TypeScript) for basedhardware/omi, delivering the core macOS parity on Windows. The feature set includes always-on recording (via /v4/listen), conversations and tasks management, screen-OCR context, and a floating Ask overlay. A standalone Windows project was created under windows/ with its own build, tests, and tooling to enable independent release cycles and CI. No major bugs reported this month for this repo.
