Worked on the mdn/browser-compat-data repository to address a specific browser compatibility issue affecting web developers. Focused on improving the accuracy of theme-color meta tag support in Safari 26, the developer delivered a targeted bug fix that clarified compatibility is limited to installed web apps. The technical approach involved updating the html/elements/meta.json file, removing an unnecessary array, and ensuring the data accurately reflected Safari’s behavior. Using JSON and web development skills, the changes enhanced the reliability of compatibility data for the broader developer community. This work reduced confusion around Safari edge cases and contributed to more precise browser compatibility documentation.
