During their two-month contribution to the django/django repository, Alex Harris enhanced geospatial capabilities by implementing the GEOSGeometry.hasm property, which detects the presence of an M (measure) dimension in geometries. This addition, developed using Python and Django’s GIS framework, improved support for multi-dimensional geospatial data and enabled downstream applications to handle M-enabled geometries correctly. Alex also addressed test suite reliability by removing unsupported 4D GEOS tests, ensuring that automated testing accurately reflected the project’s feature set.
