Worked on the streamlit/streamlit repository to deliver a feature that enables setting a default initial value for the st.feedback component, streamlining feedback collection workflows. The implementation involved updating the core library and integrating comprehensive end-to-end tests to ensure correct rendering and state toggling of the default value. Using JavaScript and Python, the changes addressed referenced issues and established a more configurable UI pattern for future enhancements. This work reduced setup friction for users integrating st.feedback into their applications, improved user experience consistency, and laid the groundwork for more predictable analytics and easier onboarding in feedback-driven Streamlit apps.
