Worked on enhancing error handling and reporting within the flyteorg/flytekit repository, focusing on backend development using Python. Developed a CustomException class to provide clearer error categorization and validated the error_code property in metaclasses, improving the reliability of exception handling. Updated unit tests to ensure that exceptions are both informative and consistent, which helps protect against regressions and streamlines debugging. Maintained code quality by adhering to linting standards and validating changes through continuous integration checks. These improvements reduced debugging time and increased observability, ultimately strengthening the robustness of error reporting for downstream workflows in the FlyteKit framework.
