Worked on modernizing policy management in the facebook/fbthrift repository by migrating XSU policy definitions to the PZSchema format. This effort focused on backend development and schema migration using Hack, consolidating policy definitions under a unified schema to streamline maintenance and improve compatibility with downstream policy engines. The approach involved updating configuration files and introducing automated code generation, which eliminated the need for legacy manual policy code and reduced technical debt. By aligning the policy surface with dependent services, the changes enhanced deployment reliability and maintainability while minimizing the impact on existing systems through careful configuration and tooling updates.
