During November 2024, Andrey Gruzinov focused on improving code hygiene in the mxcube/mxcubecore repository. He addressed technical debt by removing an unused import from the P11Session.py module, a targeted change that enhanced static analysis results and improved overall code maintainability. Working primarily with Python, Andrey applied best practices in code cleanliness, ensuring that the codebase adhered more closely to linting standards. Although no new features were introduced, this work established a cleaner foundation for future development. The depth of the contribution lay in its attention to long-term maintainability rather than immediate user-facing functionality or complex algorithmic changes.
