Worked on backend stability for the slcs-jsc/mptrac repository by addressing environment-specific path inconsistencies in METBASE handling. Focused on normalizing path conventions, replacing slmet-mnt with slmet_mnt to ensure consistent recognition of METBASE paths across development, testing, and production environments. This change, implemented using Python and Flask, eliminated a class of runtime issues related to path resolution and improved overall reliability. By standardizing path handling, the work reduced the likelihood of support tickets and streamlined deployment processes. The approach demonstrated attention to cross-environment compatibility and backend robustness, with a targeted bug fix that enhanced maintainability without introducing new features.
