During June 2025, Antilya focused on backend development and testing for the TobikoData/sqlmesh repository, addressing a critical bug affecting file encoding. She enhanced the reliability of file handling by explicitly implementing UTF-8 encoding in the _get_file_with_content function, ensuring correct processing of non-ASCII content. Using Python, she developed automated regression tests to verify the system’s robustness with international characters, such as Japanese text, and prevent future encoding issues. Her work demonstrated a methodical approach to API development and quality assurance, resulting in improved user experience for global users and a more resilient backend for content management.
