Worked on the yugabyte/yugabyte-db repository to enhance observability and reliability in the RestoreSnapshotSchedule workflow. Developed a targeted logging feature in C++ that emits a log line whenever the RestoreSnapshotSchedule RPC is serviced, providing improved visibility into snapshot restoration requests. This change was carefully validated using existing cxx-tests and specific snapshot restore test suites to ensure correct log emission and maintain functional stability. The work adhered to established coding and testing standards, with integration managed through code review. By focusing on backend development and observability, the update supports faster debugging and incident response without altering the core system behavior.
