During January 2026, Arcturus developed a Cloudscraper-based integration for the Kometa-Team/Kometa repository, enabling more reliable data retrieval from the Letterboxd API by bypassing Cloudflare protections. Working primarily in Python, Arcturus focused on backend development and API integration, implementing robust error handling and structured logging to improve both debugging and user feedback. This feature addressed recurring issues with data fetch failures, enhancing the resilience and observability of the Kometa integration. Although the work spanned a single feature over one month, it demonstrated depth in tackling third-party API challenges and improving operational reliability through thoughtful engineering and comprehensive logging practices.
