Worked on the huggingface/chat-ui repository to enhance backend performance and data reliability, focusing on conversation handling features. Applied MongoDB indexing by adding creation and update timestamp indexes, which improved the speed and efficiency of filtering conversation queries. Addressed file retrieval accuracy by updating the regular expression logic to enforce that filenames begin with the conversation ID, ensuring more reliable data access. Maintained clear commit traceability and consistent coding practices to support future maintenance. Utilized TypeScript for backend development and database management, delivering targeted improvements that balanced business value with technical robustness over the course of the month-long contribution.
