Worked on the unisonweb/unison repository to enhance runtime process management by implementing a background waiter for IO.process.start, ensuring that child processes are reliably reaped even if their ProcessHandle is dropped. This approach preserved the existing API while reducing zombie processes and resource leakage across Linux, macOS, and Windows. Leveraged Haskell for backend development, concurrent programming, and proof management to validate the correctness of these changes through system proofs. Added comprehensive cross-platform tests and updated documentation to acknowledge contributions. The work focused on improving system reliability and maintainability, emphasizing workflow automation and robust testing practices throughout the development process.
May 2026 monthly summary for unisonweb/unison focusing on delivering high-value, low-friction improvements to runtime process management and system proof reliability.
