Worked on the superfly/fly-go repository to enhance guest machine durability by introducing a PersistRootfs field to the MachineGuest structure, enabling persistence of the root filesystem across reboots. Utilized Go for backend and API development, focusing on system programming principles to ensure robust implementation. After identifying duplication and consistency issues, reverted the feature to maintain system integrity, documenting the rationale and rollback process to inform future persistence strategies. This approach demonstrated careful evaluation of technical trade-offs and a commitment to codebase stability, while contributing both a new feature and a bug fix within a short timeframe using strong Go development skills.
