Aston Bonny developed a beta access feature for LEGO EV3 within the microsoft/pxt repository, focusing on front end development using JavaScript. Over the course of one month, Aston implemented a beta endpoint in the Tutorial Tool, allowing testers to seamlessly access and evaluate new MakeCode beta features as part of their existing workflow. This work involved integrating feature flag logic directly into the tool, reducing onboarding friction for beta testers and streamlining the process of enabling experimental features. The project demonstrated a practical approach to extending user-facing tools with controlled beta access, though the scope was limited to a single feature.
