Sophia Engida focused on backend development and authentication in the better-auth/better-auth repository, addressing a nuanced issue in token refresh logic. She enhanced the API’s resilience by ensuring that existing refresh tokens are preserved when authentication providers fail to return a new token, thereby maintaining user session continuity across diverse providers. This work, implemented in TypeScript, required careful handling of edge cases in authentication flows and close collaboration with a co-author to reinforce code quality through joint review and testing. While the period did not include new feature development, Sophia’s targeted bug fix improved the reliability and stability of authentication processes.
