Contributed to the grafana/alloy repository by implementing a feature that enables configuration of the externalTrafficPolicy for the Alloy service through its Helm chart. This work focused on enhancing deployment flexibility and improving traffic routing and load management within Kubernetes environments. The technical approach involved updating YAML-based Helm charts, as well as maintaining comprehensive documentation and changelog entries to ensure clarity and traceability. Collaboration followed open source standards, including co-authoring pull requests and aligning with contributor guidelines. The contribution demonstrated practical application of DevOps practices, Helm, and Kubernetes, delivering a targeted improvement to service configurability without introducing bug fixes during the period.
