Worked on the spectrocloud/cluster-api-provider-aws repository to deliver AWS Capacity Blocks support, enabling users to specify CapacityBlock as a MarketType for AWS infrastructure provisioning. The implementation involved adding a new MarketType field and enforcing validation rules, such as requiring a CapacityReservationID when CapacityBlock is selected, ensuring correct configuration and resource allocation. Developed end-to-end handling and validation logic for capacity block instances, integrating these features seamlessly into the existing Cluster API workflow. Utilized Go for development, leveraging expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure to enhance the provider’s flexibility and compliance with AWS’s evolving capacity management options.
