Atifao enhanced image processing and visualization capabilities in the hael/SIMPLE repository, focusing on improving the accuracy of AFM versus averaged image comparisons. Leveraging Fortran and scientific computing techniques, Atifao implemented rescaling, masking, normalization, and ranking visualization features to support richer data analysis workflows. After deploying these changes, Atifao prioritized code stability by reverting modifications in simple_commander_cavgs.f90 to restore previous behavior, ensuring backward compatibility and reproducibility. Throughout the process, Atifao maintained clear documentation and end-to-end traceability. The work demonstrated a thoughtful approach to iterative feature development and quality assurance in scientific image processing using established computational methods.
